Protecting Your Child’s Personal Information

Recolor recently settled with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the United States’ consumer protection agency, for allegedly violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Rule (the COPPA Rule), a law that protects children’s online privacy. The FTC alleged that we collected personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent on or before September 1, 2019. Recolor neither admits nor denies that it violated the law.

As part of the settlement, we have agreed to pay a fine and take steps to make sure that we do not violate the COPPA Rule in the future. Because you are a user of Recolor, we are telling you about this settlement with the FTC. (If you received this notice and you’re under the age of 13, please show it to a parent or guardian.)

Please note that, according to Recolor’s Terms of Service, our app is not intended for use by children under the age of 13.

What You Can Do

If your child was under the age of 13 when using Recolor, you can ask us to delete personal information associated with the user account by contacting customer service through the Settings screen in the app.
