Today marks 1 month that Gary’s been gone. I’m struggling with even getting dressed everyday. It’s like I’m stuck in a dark hole, watching the world go on, and I don’t care. I’m moving to my brother’s house after Christmas and I need to pack, but, I really just want to get my clothes and a few things, and just leave everything else behind. I see him in everything we own. After 48 years together, I don’t know how to be without him.

1 month agoI don't have words that convey what I want to say. Time ... time.
It will never be easier ... but time does allow for our brain to process and slowly learn to cope with the trauma. I suggest therapy with a professional counselor or minister. It can help you process your emotions and work through them. The loss of someone so significant in our lives can bring forth so many things that are mixed.
We start feeling guilt, anger, sadness, loss of direction, purpose. All very normal.

1 month agoYet we also try to "be strong," and move ahead before it's time ... a very American way to deal with stuff, which is BS.
Allow yourself to FEEL what you FEEL... in your timeline and in your way.
It will never get "better," but it will get more manageable.
You are loved and we care for you here ...
Gary has moved on physically, but not spiritually. Talk to him ... open yourself to feel him as he tries to comfort you from beyond.

1 month agoOh goodness, I can see you are so deeply in love and always will be. A huge tear in the fabric of your universe, will make you reinvent yourself.. a shadow of yourself. Im so sorry you are struggling with your loss. When we are with our partners for so long we dont know where they end and we begin! Be patience with yourself, love yourself while in your darkness. ❤️
